Mile Zero Cashspiel Final Results

Kurt Balderston captured the championship crown in the Sun Life Financial Competitive Division at the Mile Zero Cashspiel at the Dawson Creek Curling Club on Sunday afternoon.

Balderston defeated Roland Robinson, 5-3, in the final. Balderston overcame an early 2-0 deficit by scoring three in the third end, and singles in the fifth and seventh ends for the victory. Balderston earned $2,000 for the victory, while Robinson took home $1,500.

And Caryl Sallows defeated Marlene Maxwell of the Dawson Creek Curling Club to win the Encana Challenge Division. Sallows scored deuces in each of the first and third ends, and held Maxwell to singles in the second and fourth ends on the way to the victory. Sallows won $1,100, while Maxwell earned $800 for their team's weekend efforts.
